In 2003-2006 a
Global Round of international comparisons of GDP on the basis of Purchasing Power Parities (PPPs) is being conducted.
About 150 countries are taking part in the 2003-2006 ICP round.
In accordance with the decision of the UN Statistical Commission, the World Bank coordinates the activities of the Global Round.
The Governance framework sets out the executive, managerial and advisory bodies, and the procedures that they follow, which ensure that the International Comparison Program is run to high standards both globally and regionally.
The ICP is using a multilateral approach to link regional Purchasing Power Parities (PPPs) across regions to provide global measures in the 2003-2006 round of the Program. This methodology is called the ‘Ring Comparison’
